I hit some were I knew it would hurt because their mother left them when they were 6 and their father kicked them out for his new family and she’s had issues since.

In all, it's clear that this ex failed to recognize the circumstances as soon as possible as she was just being too confident in someone who is not interested in her. It's funny how Jenny was so sure Jake's family would side with her on everything, but when they heard what happened, the only person on her side was Jake's sister.
