It's not so surprising that television programs and movies depict much more emotional, dramatic, and, for the most part, idealized forms of the real world. Sometimes, we tend to turn to the screen in order to escape from our boring and exhausting lives, but not to relive them just the way they are.
A criminal investigator movie wouldn’t be much fun if all we had to watch was the main character engage in training while preparing and filing paperwork. But when we put the willing suspension of some far-fetched situations aside, there are some television and movie figures of speech that can get under your skin.
Well, the author Tom Cox has gone on Twitter to bring back the "Hello, I am..." meme, which has shown up in various threads since around 2019. The meme is very simple as it begins with "Hello, I am..." and then it allows the character to talk to the first individual about the annoyingly unsurprising thing about them.
This is similar to when your partner is ridiculing you in a fight, but he or she uses a shrill voice as if that is the way you really talk. Before now, I had never really given a thought to all these movie clichés. And as I read all these memes, I discovered that they are all so true.
Nevertheless, I guess they all need a little extra spice for a movie to be entertaining enough for the audience to watch and not feel bored.
