In my entire class, there was only one other kid that was also an only child, just like me.

Luckily for adult-me, my husband was also an only child. So we resonate with a lot of the same things when we discuss our upbringing.
Even more so though, we have multiple children. Thus, our kids will never know the 'talk' you'd hear when you'd tell someone you didn't have any brothers or sisters.
We heard the same questions over and over again.
Who do you play with? Myself.
How do you get away with anything? I don't.
I can certainly say, independence was hardwired into us though. Definitely at least in my husband and myself.
Now as an adult with friends who have kids, I don't think I know any that have just been one and done either.
Only children might be a rare commodity period.
Interesting!
