Our First Look At Beyoncé As Nala In The New Lion King Movie Has Us SO PUMPED
2019 is turning out to be an utterly incredible year for the Disney franchise. I mean, don't even get me started on The Avengers and the MCU, but all of the live-action remakes that are rolling out this year has us on high. A lot of people were initially feeling quite a bit of disappointment, especially over the sneak peeks we were getting of Aladdin, but after it released on May 24th, most of the naysayers saw their exit and people have been all the more pumped and encouraged at what Disney is promising us yet to come.

Literally, Aladdin raised our excitement levels for The Lion King tenfold. The cherry on top, though? The sneak peek we got of Queen Bey herself in her soon-to-be iconic role as Nala.
When we first heard that The Lion King was getting a make-over, we were torn between excitement and skepticism. As details slowly leaked, we argued a lot, but ultimately, found ourselves delighted at the thought of a whole new version of an iconic animated film. And we were all about Beyonce filling the roll of Nala.
Clearly, the imagery we're going to get dosed to us in heaping spoonfuls from the 2019 Lion King is going to be incredible.
But there was something uniquely "chills down my back" worthy of hearing Beyonce say, "Simba," for the first time.
Sultry isn't a word used often enough but the rich, silky tone of Beyonce's Nala voice was hella sultry.
If Nala wasn't enticing enough, this glimpse of the epic climactic battle between Simba and Scar has us practically foaming at the mouth with anticipation.
To top it all off? The surprise clip of Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen voicing Timon and Pumbaa! We didn't know we'd be this excited for those voices in those roles but here we are, jittery and chattering with delight.
But really, check out the trailer for yourself. It's to die for.
Unsurprisingly, Twitter is ablaze with just as much as excitement as we are.
Their responses are just encouraging the heck out of us.
I didn't know I needed this but look at me here, I needed this. Obviously.
If you've been second-guessing this whole "remake" thing, DO NOT DO THAT.
It's gonna be good.
