A Woman Tweeted About How A Man Helped Her Drunk Friend and The Reaction Is Mixed
Jessica Lipsey and Michelle Gallahan are both American exchange students studying in Sydney. Gallahan went out to a party with several friends, including new friend (and fellow American exchange student) Kevin Franco. The two got to talking, and Franco invited Gallahan back to his house as it was much closer to the party so she could sober up.

According to Buzzfeed News, Franco said that, "I would have felt bad if she walked home and fell or got hurt along the way." Back at Franco's house, they stayed up for hours talking and sharing their experiences of being exchange students.
About 5 am, Gallahan began to fall asleep in Franco's bed. Not wanting her to feel uncomfortable if she woke up in the same bed as a man she hardly knew, Franco left his bedroom and went to do something productive.
Lipsey was surprised by the responses and said that, "honestly no one reads my tweets and obviously I did not think it would ever, ever go viral."
The replies were mixed: some blamed Gallahan for getting herself into the situation.
While others, on the back of movements such as #metoo, pointed out rape culture and the fears that a lot of women have.
In response to the incident, Franco maintains that he was just showing concern for someone who was drunk and wasn't trying to do anything fantastic or noble.
