Illustrator Rudy Siswanto Turns Mythical Creatures Into Babies, And They Look Absolutely Adorable

Hong Kong-based illustrator, Rudy Siswanto is commonly known for being a splash artist at Riot Games. His specialty is mythical creatures and fantasy characters, but this time he decided to give it a little twist.

He named his project Baby Beastiary, where he reimagines mystical creatures as babies, and the artwork is so adorable it makes these creatures seem completely adorable and unthreatening. Rudy started Baby Beastiary as a client project while he was still working at Caravan Studio, according to a recent interview with Bored Panda.

The idea was initially supposed to be used to create an RPG book, and the client who came up with it helped them with the visuals. Rudy's contributions consisted of helping with art directions in the first two volumes.

While working on this project, Rudy leaned how baby versions of creatures are created and also how to discern their movements, little gestures, and proportions. The Baby Bestiary project allowed the artist to take his craft to the next level, mainly when it comes to creating fantasy creatures.
