These Hyperrealistic Oil Painting Will Show You What People With Bad Eyesight See When They Take Off Their Glasses
I've always wondered if people with bad eyesight could survive without their eyeglasses because I had no idea how bad things could be. In order to show the world what people with bad eyesight see when they remove their glasses, a Cape Town-based artist Philip Barlow decided to create a series of paintings that perfectly depict the struggles of anyone with myopia or nearsightedness, the most common refractive error of the eye.
Barlow’s hyperrealistic oil artworks initially look like out of focus photographs. But in truth, they perfectly portray the blurred effect that nearsighted people see when they take off their glasses. Those with a normal vision now should have a better understanding of what it’s like to suffer from this condition.
