Woman Confronts An Obsessively Observing Neighbor, Calls Him A Busybody
Part of what makes a small community peaceful is the awesome neighbors. Not only can you be friends with them, but you can also have people you can count on for the security of your home while you're away.
Sadly, not everyone has awesome neighbors. Some can be too nosy to the point that it drives you crazy.
One way of keeping your home and yourself from the busybodies is installing tall fences. Do check with your Homeowners' Association (HOA) before you install anything, though.
That's because, in some places, there could be a set height requirement. If a fence won't do, you can plant a row of trees to block their view.
Security cameras can also help. You'll never know when your neighbor will invade your property, after all.
Today's story is about a woman whose male neighbor doesn't know how to mind his own business. He obsessively observes the stuff on her property as well as everything she does.
He also constantly complains about how tall her grasses are, how long she's been barbecuing, the cars parked in the street, and so on. Eventually, the woman has had enough of this neighbor's nosiness.
She called him out, saying he should stop being a busybody. Then she tells him that he's making her uncomfortable by observing her every move.
The man acted defensively and walked out. He finally stopped meddling.
But it makes the woman wonder if what she said was too much, so she decided to ask the "Am I The A**hole?" (AITA) community.
The original poster (OP) is a woman who stopped her neighbor from meddling with everything she does.

The male neighbor is either complaining or commenting on what she does.

She's had enough, so the OP told the neighbor off, saying he needs to stop being a busybody.

He became defensive. But after the confrontation, he finally left her alone.

He probably thinks he's being a father figure to the OP, so he won't mind his own business. Now, he's angry after being called out.

Men like the OP's neighbor exist. A Redditor recounts their experience.

The man needed to hear it. Good job to the OP for telling him off!

This comment won the internet.

Redditor is so pissed, they want the OP do the opposite of what the nosy neighbor suggests.

If only men are aware when they're being creepy, women's lives would be so much better.

Others suggest involving the authority. The OP can also threaten him with a TRO.

At least he realized his mistake. Let's hope he won't bother the OP again.

If you're a woman and living by yourself, things like this can be pretty scary. The neighbor might think that he's doing a younger person a favor, but that's not how the OP feels.
When he was told off, the OP's words were probably hit like a punch a in the gut to this guy. Let's hope that this time, he'll just mind his own business and leave the OP alone.
