A Guide Outlining How Far You Can Drive Your Specific Car When Your Tank Is On Empty
Finally.
We are all (well, most of us) guilty of it! We see that meter drop to E, that empty light blink on and we keep on driving. It's almost unfathomable to me, when I see someone fuel up before their empty light even goes on - like really? Who does that?
It's almost like a competition - With myself? With my car? With the road? Who knows? But when that light blinks, it's suddenly all happening and I am thinking to myself, 'how far can I really get before I HAVE to stop?'
Unfortunately, after playing this little game with myself for more than 12 years, I have, on one occasion (ok, three occasions) taken it too far and had to call a friend to come and tow me.
I am telling anyone reading this, there is no worse feeling than racing that empty light and feeling your vehicle start to putt-putt-putt and lose steering.

'Your Mechanic' wanted to stress that these are to be taken as estimations are that there are certain factors that will also affect this reading. Things such as the condition of your vehicle, the speed you drive and the way your drive can all slightly alter these numbers.
Basically, if you do this and you run off of gas, that's on you!
Also be aware that running completely empty can damage your vehicle, so your safe option is to fill up once that light is on... LOL... Yeah, as if!
