Kissing is one of the most intimate and meaningful physical gestures two people can share. It’s a way to show affection, express love, and create a deeper connection with someone.

Good kissing is important because it helps to create a strong bond between two people. It can also help to build trust and comfort with one another.

But what about faking a kiss on screen? Celebrities, who have dazzled us with their amazing on-screen performances, have certainly not let us down.

We have seen them bring their characters to life with their impeccable acting skills. But who knew that the simple task of kissing could be so difficult for them?

Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Pattinson, and more have all taken the challenge and failed in multiple romantic scenes, leaving us with some awkward and sloppy moments. They have certainly surprised us with their lack of kissing abilities.

Virginie Ledoyen revealed her kiss with Leo on The Beach: “There was no honest passion. No real sensitivity in our love scenes. I can’t remember his kiss.”

2. James Franco

When asked by Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live about her on-screen kiss with Franco in 2016's Why Him?, Zoey Deutch, the former co-star, simply replied "Meh".

3. Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck's onscreen kisses with co-star Sandra Bullock during the filming of Forces of Nature didn't go over too well; Bullock was less than thrilled about the interaction. The Good Will Hunting actor's breath was so bad that she even suggested he take a break.

4. Angelina Jolie

When being interviewed on Today while shooting the 2008 thriller Wanted with Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy confessed that kissing her on the movie set was "uncomfortable, soggy, and not enjoyable."

When shooting the 90210 revivals, AnnaLynne McCord informed HollywoodLife that her co-star Matt Lanter was a terrible kisser. She stated, “He is a really bad kisser, so it kind of sucks.”

Reese Witherspoon, the star of Big Little Lies, recounted that when filming for Water for Elephants in 2011, Robert Pattinson showed that he was not as sexy during kissing scenes. She revealed, “He was snorting and snotting through every second of it – and it was not appealing.”

Her co-star Depp said to TMZ, “Any kind of scene like that, whenever you’re doing that sort of thing, it’s always unbelievably awkward, especially having [first] met Keira when she was 17,” he revealed.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe experienced his kiss with Emma Watson while filming the franchise. “I was ambushed! It was full on,” he told Marie Claire. “I always thought it would be this soft, sensual moment and this passionate kissing happening to me. She is a bit of an animal.”

Despite Oscar winner Helen Mirren thinking of Harrison Ford as "the nicest, sweetest guy you could want to meet," she wasn't keen on the smooching that was required during the filming of The Mosquito Coast in 1986. In her words, "He can't kiss. He's probably not very good off-screen either." Ouch!

He said, “I did a movie with her, My Best Friend’s Girl, and I think she (may have) purposely ate just like a feast of onions before our scene.”

Thandie Newton said: “Kissing Tom Cruise was slightly icky and sort of wet,” Newton recalls her time on the Mission: Impossible II set. “I’d really go home at the end of the day moan about… how many times we had to do it.”

The actor admitted he fumbled with the kiss due to nerves. “I never look back at that scene,” he revealed. “I’ve known Emma since she was nine, and we had this very brother-sister relationship.”

Oh my God!” I was so desperate to get it over. After the first take, he was like, “Whoa, there! Where did that come from?”’ I was like, ’Sorry!’”

When shooting Silver Linings Playbook, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence had their first kiss scene. Unfortunately, Lawrence wasn't too impressed with Cooper's kissing technique. Cooper later shared in an interview, "After the second take, she said, 'You're a wet kisser.' You don't want to hear that. It was not a compliment."
