8 Celebs Who Treat Their Employees Badly
Ah, the joys of working for a famous person! From the magical, sparkling aura of their presence to the delightful temper tantrums, who wouldn't want to give up their day job to bask in the aura of celebrity?
It's an incredible honor to be able to serve someone so important and to be able to give fans the once-in-a-lifetime present of unfettered access to a famous person's presence. Truly, it's a privilege to be able to provide such a service - even if they do tend to let their success go to their heads and get a bit diva-ish at times.
Yes, we are being sarcastic. And some of the celebs deserve to be called out.
Many A-list celebrities live luxurious lifestyles and, unfortunately, sometimes treat their people badly. Some of them demand to be called only by their last name, and some companies pay their employees meager wages yet expect gratitude.
Additionally, it has been reported that some famous people even use verbal and physical abuse on their staff.
Celebrities may be famous, but that doesn’t mean they are immune to the same problems with bosses as the rest of us. Just like in any other industry, there are good and bad bosses in the entertainment business.
Good celebrity bosses are those who are supportive and encouraging of their employees. They are professional and understand the importance of maintaining a healthy working relationship.
They respect their employees’ time and value their input. They also understand that their employees are human beings with individual needs and preferences.
And bad bosses? Well, here is a list of eight bad celeb bosses:
Years before she became a superstar, Beyonce was already thinking highly of herself. Reportedly, her team would instruct any local workers not to look at her, talk to her, or approach her while she was touring.
In fact, the crew was even told to find an unlocked room if they spotted her coming down the hallway and go into it immediately. It's truly disheartening to hear of such behavior from someone who is held in such high regard today.

2. Ellen DeGeneres
A source close to the company alleges that Ellen DeGeneres does not behave in the same kind and approachable manner off camera as she does on. The source claims that she is often demanding and nasty to the people who work for her.
It has even been said that, off hours, colleagues of DeGeneres refer to her as “Queen Ellen.” Some have even left the company because of her reported behavior.
It is apparent that her attitude with her employees is far from pleasant, as she has been known to “explode at staffers” over trivial matters. The idea that a book's cover reflects its contents does not appear to be true in this case.
3. Naomi Campbell
In 2000, Campbell was sued by her former aide Galanis, who accused her of threatening to shove them from a moving vehicle and beating them with a telephone in a hotel room. In 2004, Campbell's assistant Amie Castaldo accused her of head-butting, biting her lip, and yanking her to the floor, screaming, "you f***ing worthless b*tch."
Two years later, Campbell allegedly assaulted her housekeeper Ana Scolavino with a cell phone. In the same year, her assistant Amanda Brack accused her of slapping and beating her on the head with a cell phone.
In the past few years, Campbell has been accused of verbally and physically attacking her aides and housemaids. Campbell has earned a reputation for being abusive to her employees.
4. George Clooney
George Clooney reportedly does not allow his staff to handle his liquor collection, as he does not want them to drink from his expensive selection. To make sure that this is not done, Clooney marks his decanters after each use, so that his employees are not tempted to drink from them.
5. Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Lohan is well-known for her love of partying, but this often has a detrimental effect on the people who work with her. It has been revealed that Lohan usually sleeps until noon, and her hangovers are evident in her bad moods and her tendency to take it out on her staff.
As anyone can imagine, it can be difficult to work for someone who is consistently hungover.
Madonna has garnered a notorious reputation as one of the most uncompromising stars in the business. Reports have indicated that she is often cruel and thoughtless towards her colleagues and fans.
An anonymous informant claimed that when one of Madonna's dancers injured her arm during a practice session, Madonna had a breakdown instead of being concerned. Moreover, Madonna is said to have made the statement that "no overweight people are allowed in her presence."
Rumors have been circulating that Rihanna is not very friendly with her team. A trusted, unnamed source reported that the singer often shuns her "hired staff."
Additionally, it appears that Rihanna even falls asleep while having her makeup done. This behavior is uncharacteristic of the singer and has caught many people off guard.
8. Courtney Love
Jessica Labrie took Courtney Love to court due to her disappointment with the alleged unfulfilled promises Love had made at the time of Labrie’s hiring as Love’s assistant in 2010. These promises included a promotion, a scholarship to Yale, a role in producing a movie about Nirvana, and a position at Love’s music management firm.
On top of this, Love had allegedly not paid Labrie her $2,000 salary and had asked her to use a hacker to forge court documents.
No matter what industry you’re in, it’s important to remember that not all bosses are created equal. Good bosses are those who understand and respect their employees, while bad bosses can make the workplace an unbearable place to be.
Celebs’ employees have to deal with both types of bosses just like everyone else, and it’s important to be aware of the differences so you can make sure you’re working for the right person.
