This Story Of A Dad Asking For Advice On Supporting His Queer Son Will Melt Your Heart

by Hailey

Although the LGBT community is receiving more support than they did in the past, we have to keep in mind that there are millions of people who still believe that those who that those who identify as something other than heterosexual and cisgender shouldn't be accepted. Thankfully, there are still kind people trying to make the world a better and safer place for everyone to express their identity in.

Twitter user @jackremmington states in a thread that he was approached by a stranger who asked if he and his friend were gay, to which they replied yes. Though at first the question seemed just seemed like it was looking for an opportunity to throw a homophobic comment their way, it turns out the stranger was a father looking for ways to support his potentially queer son. Take a look:

Here's how Jack Remmington's Twitter thread started.

A plot twist for sure:

I'd be lying if I said this isn't one of the sweetest things I've ever seen.

This is some really great and detailed advice!

Aw, how sweet. This is definitely the correct attitude when it comes to accepting your children's queer identity.

Drop everything else, THIS is real parent goals.

My faith in humanity is being restored with every tweet in this thread.

This is so heartwarming!

'Express support at times when it's not a discussion' is something to keep in mind.

Making the world a better place little by little. <3
