Daycare Worker Faces Dilemma - Educate Negligent Parent Or Show Empathy For Struggling Mother

by Daphnie

We're back to another AITA thread post from Reddit where someone is looking for advice on whether or not they are in the wrong for a decision they made. We often go over these posts because they're so fun to look into, and they usually get a lot of comments as well.

We enjoy looking at all the different perspectives from people who are commenting on the post because they usually give a different point of view with their vote and response to OP. This is a great place to get unbiased opinions and advice on their situation.

With this being said, we are diving into a post today where a woman comes to get advice on a decision she made to ask a woman to come to pick up her kids from the daycare she kept leaving them at. Ultimately, this woman was dropping her kids off and not paying but leaving them there and so the daycare worker eventually got ahold of her and told her to get her kids.

If you want to hear the full story, then keep on reading as we dive in and give you all the details on the situation, and also look at the comments that were posted as well.

OP starts off by explaining where she works and what's going on with this woman who keeps leaving her kids at the doorstep of the daycare.

She says that the woman did this again and basically they decided that they needed to find out a way to contact the mother.

She says that everything went fine but now she's worried that she didn't make the right decision and that she may have put the kids in a worse situation.

Many people were very disappointed in the way that these daycare workers handled the situation and they said that they should have handled it properly the first time.

This situation could have been really bad if they had decided to keep the kids and something happened.

Some people even said that they would have called the police because what the mom was doing was absolutely not okay.

This person voted YTA because of the way that she handled this situation. This comment says that OP should have shut it down much earlier than she did and that's where the problem lies.

This situation is really sketchy, and it turns out that people were pretty split in the comments because a lot of people said that OP was TA for not handling the situation properly from the beginning, and then some people said NTA because it was the right thing to call her to pick up her kids. Hopefully, this pushes the mom to get real childcare for her kids.
