Parent Gets Called Out On Reddit For Deleting Their Son's Minecraft World

Parenting is surely one of the most challenging (and also fulfilling) roles a parent or parents will take on. Every day is a roller coaster ride with your kids and though it gets fun and exciting, it has also a challenge to it.

Now, disciplining your kids is a very hard aspect of parenting and it requires lots of patience. Mind you, discipline is not a bad thing, in fact, it will help the child in one way or another.

However, in this case, parents put a consequence whenever things are not met by their children. Say, in this episode of AITA, the OP, a parent of two, a 9, and a 6-year-old, things quite got out of hand when discipline was not met.

The OP was disciplining their 9-year-old to not sleep so late in the morning. Sure, they warned their son… but after their 9-year-old kid refused to follow, they gave him the consequence of being prohibited to use the computer for the next month, and worse, they even deleted her son’s favorite Minecraft world.

Emphasis on delete and favorite. Their son went bananas after this, cried, and refused to eat his meals.

And so OP asked for the verdict of the people on Reddit, and well, things did not exactly go well in their favor...

True, the terms of the consequences were not discussed among the children. Now it’s totally unfair for the OP to just decide to delete her sons creations.

Though it is the OP’s full decision on how to take care of her kids, the consequence of this case is just too much for a “waking up” skill. A user strongly suggested that the rewards system is way more effective and better than the consequence system because it is!

It’s not easy to decide as a parent, but don’t we all have the same goal? For our kids to grow up properly and for them to look back on us people who loved them?
