People have different beliefs about specific genders and what to expect from each gender. Even when these beliefs are unfounded and not backed by scientific findings, people tend to stand by them.

Unfortunately, these beliefs are sometimes upsetting, especially when there’s a clear line of inequality being showcased. Some people, for example, view men as the stronger gender and women as the weaker one.

These different beliefs have caused countless conflicts, and it doesn’t seem like these conflicts will stop anytime soon. We found a story on the AITB community on Reddit that paints a similar picture.

OP shared that she’d recently taken up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and was enjoying it. One of the reasons she had taken the sport up was to learn to defend herself whenever the need arose.

Her coach regularly held sparring matches, and when it was OP’s turn, he paired her with an acquaintance of hers. Even though the guy was taller and more muscular than OP was, OP’s technique was superior, and she won the match.

Later, the guy approached her and accused her of emasculating and deliberately embarrassing him in front of his friends. This led OP to ask the critical AITB question.

Check out the full details of the story below, as well as the Reddit community's verdict on the matter.

The commenters believe OP is NTB. However, they didn’t share the same belief regarding OP’s sparring partner.

They accused the guy of being entitled and was the one emasculating himself, not OP.

Some people advised OP to report him to their coach, as his behavior was unacceptable. They also assured her that his ego issues were not her problem to deal with.
