Even in the 21st century, where 'mental health' is definitely part of our daily rhetoric, people still tend to neglect their mental and emotional state for a very long time - pretty often, until they snap. A snap can take many forms, from an all out nervous breakdown, to something less intense (but still very damaging) like lashing out at friends or family.
This year has been a difficult one, especially with isolating lockdowns, unemployment and unfortunately, an unprecedented number of people losing their lives after contracting Covid-19. All of these factors can seriously affect our mental health, even if we aren't directly impacted.
