A number of the Mario franchise titles, particularly those in the Super Mario subseries, are regarded as some of the best video games ever created, making the Mario series one of gaming's most popular and acclaimed franchises.

Many love the franchise’s main character, an Italian plumber named Mario. However, there are other characters people love in the franchise, including Mario’s brother, Luigi.

Mario and Luigi often feature in games with simple plots. They are typically rescuing the kidnapped Princess Peach from the primary antagonist, Bowser.

Considering people’s love for the brothers, it’s unsurprising that several people watched the 2023 film The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

The movie features an origin story for the brothers, who are transported to an alternate world and become entangled in a battle between the Mushroom Kingdom, led by Princess Peach, and the Koopas, led by Bowser.
