Hairstylist Make His Clients Embrace Grey Hair And Its Grandeur, Instead Of Trying To Cover Grey Roots
It all started three years ago when a woman walked into Jack Martin's California hair salon and wanted a change. She had been dyeing her hair from gray to chocolate every three to four weeks for years.
She had retired and started to enjoy the great outdoors and wanted to save as much time as possible - not spend it on getting hair treatments. Jack Martin took it as a challenge, and they immediately started coming up with ideas.
Ultimately, they've decided to dye her hair silver. That would give her natural gray shade a little more polish, which would enable her to visit salons less.
When the process was done, the woman was thrilled with the results. Martin was too. He posted this transformation on Instagram, and the post got a lot of attention. Martin's salon was soon full of clients who wanted the same transformation.

The transformation is not just about stunning new looks but also about the empowerment that beautiful grey hair brings. Martin typically does them over one ten-hour-long session.
He described the process on Instagram, saying that it starts with applying a color extractor to eliminate any remaining artificial color. Then, while protecting the gray roots, Martin bleaches the rest of the hair to prepare it for the new silver pigment.

Next comes the vital part. The hairstylist creates a new color scheme based on the hair's natural gray pattern. His clients usually come in with three to four inches of their hair roots grown out, so he can analyze the natural color scheme. He then re-creates the scheme on the entire hair.
"Some clients have salt and pepper mostly in the front, and the back is darker, so I match that and add some dark to it," Martin said.
