You've undoubtedly noticed a pattern where women post videos complaining about how men harass them or ask them out. You might have experienced this yourself, and so far we have found the discussion to be constructive.

But then, have these videos "gone too far?" Is it because women are taking advantage of these chances to go viral on TikTok, or is it because men simply can't take the truth or rejection?

In any case, the most recent instance of bro backlash was brought on by a so-called tech expert who accused a woman at the gym of having sex with him because she had shared a video about a creepy guy who had made her feel uncomfortable. Well, let's get into the story properly.

A man pulls up in his own vehicle, awkwardly stares a woman down, and motions for her to roll down her window. This happened as soon as the TikTok was about to talk about her day's workout at the gym in the video.

She shyly declines his invitation to go on a date after avoiding his almost immediate questions about her home and other favorite locations to hang out.

Later in the overlay text, she questions why she greeted him with "it was lovely to meet you" when it wasn't, and the answer is that she was afraid. Because she, like most women, has seen, read, or heard story after story about women who were assaulted for saying โ€œnoโ€ or for not being polite and ego-stroking enough in their rejections.

And of course, if we are unfortunate enough to have that guy follow us home, assault us, stalk us for years, or do any of the other horrifying things that happen to women in alarmingly high numbers, we will be held responsible by those who claim that we weren't being careful enough. No means to triumph.

He also ignores her obvious desire to end the conversation by saying "it was pleasant to meet you," as the woman notes, and he keeps asking personal questions

If we're scared, it means we're mean, cold, and assume the worst about all males, defaming them in the process. When the worst occurs, it will be our responsibility if we are not prepared.

Really, we could have sworn that we only recently discussed all of this. We're worn out, you lot.

One tweep had this to say after watching the video

Nothing in the film implies that the woman wants this man fired, detained, or even just identified, and she did not make any rape-related accusations against him. Simply put, the commenter above is being extraordinarily dramatic, as males often do when provoked even slightly.

That brings us full circle to the reason why so many women tremble when they have to decline a random gentleman. Even in the face of other men being refused, the tweep's reaction demonstrates how extreme and enraged men can become.

And this kind of response when we try to explain, even when weโ€™re โ€œnot woke,โ€ is not helping:

In a quoted tweet, one woman wrote:

โ€œThe responses and vitriol towards this woman being exceptionally polite in turning down a guy who followed her to her car (!!) and asked her where she lives are chilling. Itโ€™s pretty clear, these guys want to control women and find any rejection of that as a personal threat.โ€

The aforementioned video contains warning signs that many women will notice. In order to isolate her and minimize the possibility of witnesses, the man first waits until she is in her vehicle after leaving the gym.

He then asks if she resides "locally," which is an invitation to divulge details about the location of his target's home. Why it's risky for women to divulge that information to a strange guy who has just approached them shouldn't need to be explained.
