We have been obsessed with ranking people on their physical attributes since the dawn of time, which is why things like Beauty pageants are a thing. Each country wants to show that it has good-looking people that can compete on a global scale.

Some people see these events as objectifying but many others think of them as empowering, which is a matter of opinion of course. Regardless, these shows are pretty spectacular and entertaining to watch.

The 19th century was when such competitions came to be around, with the first-ever known beauty pageant being held in 1839 as part of medieval joust re-enactment. The winner has been crowned the 'Queen of Beauty."

Today, these competitions are even more popular since a lot of them are international contests. Beauty pageants for men, on the other hand, are not as popular as the ones for women, but there are still many contests hosted solely for men.

Mister Global, for instance, is a competition that has been going on for the last 8 years in Thailand, and once again, they managed to amaze people with their national costume competition. Each model displayed a costume inspired by their country and some of the results are majestic as hell.

After going through this list, I was reminded of how beautifully diverse our planet really is, not just racially but also when it comes to art. These models all expressed themselves differently through the costume they chose and it's all beautiful and a refreshing change from the repetitive styles we're used to seeing.

In my opinion, they all deserve to win but that's not how real life works. There will always be one person that stands out more than the rest. I wish them all the very best of luck and hope they at least get a fair competing chance.
