Everybody goes to the gym wearing the most casual pieces of clothing. Either athletic wear or simply a t-shirt and pants. Dress codes rarely pop into our heads when we think about going to the gym, so we often choose to wear something comfortable and practical. However, there are a couple of hygienic tips that are recommended.
It is actually much better not to wear revealing clothes at the gym in order to prevent germs originating from sweat to spread via the equipment. A lot of people don't realize that germs can multiply excessively when they are hot and keeping basic personal hygiene may mean wearing clothes that cover you a little bit more than your usual attire.
Unfortunately, Sarah Villafañe didn't know there might be restrictions and was surprised when she was asked to change her shirt by one of the employees of the student gym at the College of Charleston. Since she didn't have anything else to wear she ignored him and continued her workout.
But then the manager came over and told her that she would have to leave the gym if she doesn't change. Utterly shocked by this event, she posted this story on her Facebook wall and got some pretty serious responses.
The reactions she received were a little bit mixed. Some were supportive and others were not.
Cover up, people.
Exactly! We should celebrate women.
No need to make a big deal about it.
The rules apply to everyone, regardless of their gender.
