Trending doesn't always imply quality or useful content. In fact - it rarely does. But occasionally, we get a real gem.
This story was shared by Nicole Hennessy, a photographer from Maryland, and a mother of three children. This 35-year-old woman showed how she and her 17-year-old daughter Angelina handled her teenage pregnancy.
Angelina permitted her mom to share the video that depicts how they battled emotions while trying to figure out what they should do. One thing is clear - mom wants what's best for her child. We see love, not judgment or anger.
The video has over 14 million views, and people applaud Nicole's educational and calm reaction. And the general opinion is that we can all learn something from Nicole.
The CDC says that ” In 2017, a total of 194,377 babies were born to women aged 15–19 years, for a birth rate of 18.8 per 1,000 women in this age group. This is another record low for U.S. teens, and a drop of 7% from 2016.1 Birth rates fell 10% for women aged 15–17 years and 6% for women aged 18–19 years.”
The report also states that the reasons for this decline are not completely clear. Still, the evidence suggests that more teens refrain from sexual activity and(or) use birth control.
Nevertheless, the U.S. teen pregnancy rate is still greater than what we see in the other western industrialized nations.
