The Grandma Who Accidentally Texted A Teenager For Thanksgiving Met Up For The Third Consecutive Year
You might remember a time, long ago (back in 2016 actually) when a grandmother named Wanda Dench accidentally texted a teenager, Jamal Hinton. She thought that his number was that of her grandchild, and innocently invited them over for Thanksgiving. Jamal asked who she was, and for a photo. Wanda delivered a selfie, and Jamal responded 'you not my grandma!... can I still get a plate though?'

The two have become friends ever since, with Jamal visiting Wanda for the third consecutive Thanksgiving celebration.
There's nothing more beautiful and wholesome than an accidental friendship, tbh. Especially when it's during the holiday season.

Dench said, "It was really nice having everybody here, we got to laugh about last year and reminisce about how it all blew up on our phone and how I had to change my number. We had a laugh and a good time."
Jamal Hinton said last year “The world is becoming a better place than it used to be. With all the Donald Trump going on and all the racial comments going on, it’s kind of good to see there’s still good people out there".
