Woman Who Top Fragged In The Matches Of A Local Valorant Competition Gets Harassed By Her Male Teammates
When it comes to getting good at games, gender is irrelevant. The only reason why people seem to think so is that males generally spend more time gaming than females.

A study from the University of California, Davis Campus revealed that women can advance at the same speed as men in online games. They pulled the data from two MMORPG titles played in the US and China.
Even with the efforts to make the gaming community friendly to everyone, there are still toxic men gamers out there. When they play with or against female players, they still blurt out sexist remarks.
What's even more sickening is that these guys will say such horrible things even if the woman is performing well in the game. They cover up their weaknesses by belittling the female player because of her gender.
This is exactly what happened in a local Valorant competition at a university. A redditor named ihatemenwhogame tells the "Am I The A**hole" (AITA) subreddit about her experience.
She was top fragging and carrying the team in most of the matches, yet the "boys" in her team never acknowledged that. To make things worse, her boyfriend never protected her from the toxic comments and insisted that they were just game banter.
She left in the middle of the competition as she couldn't take the toxicity any longer. Her boyfriend even got mad at her, saying that she embarrassed him.
Now, she's asking the community if she's wrong for leaving in the middle of the match.
That is one immature boyfriend right there.
The boys are calling her out even if she's the highest ranked player and the best performing one in the match.
This guy shouldn't be in a relationship.
Her gamer friends are split on what she did.
Everything ended well for the original poster. She even got a bonus item from a Riot staff.
An overflowing amount of support poured for the original poster.
The fact that the boyfriend made an issue over him not getting into the university Valorant team is already screaming misogynistic.
These comments are so true.
Boyfriends are supposed to protect their girlfriends. Buy the guy allowed his friends to vocally harass her.
The boyfriend is not worth her time and energy.

We hope she gets to do the 30+ kills on her boyfriend's team.
The boyfriend doesn't know what the word "banter" means.
A lot of people agree that it's time to say goodbye to the boyfriend.
It's the guys fault they lost. They're supposed to be supporting each other.
The team might even just be taking advantage of her skills.
Perhaps it's better that they didn't win.
The boyfriend would rather hangout with his insecure friends. That's why she should leave him.
The boyfriend blew it.
Other guys would take care of their gamer girlfriends.
Are these boys even aware of what they should be doing as teammates?
Gender inequality exists even in online games.
It's unfair, yet women face this reality. No matter how good they get, they'll never get acknowledged for their abilities.
Some women are even forced to hide the fact that they're females so they can avoid harassment. According to award-winning game developer Robin Hunicke, the best way to solve this issue is to allow diversity in game studios.
By having diversity, developers can create games with a broader appeal.
