Your house ought to be a haven of tranquility, quiet, and rest. But then, your home may rapidly turn into a place of tension, awkwardness, and discomfort when you share a room with a poor roommate.
The likelihood of having a roommate among young people nowadays is higher than ever. Students in colleges are particularly affected by this.
It is a cost-effective yet somewhat uncomfortable rite of passage to share a dorm room with a stranger. Conflict and stress between seemingly rational people can arise from differences in personal priorities, sleeping schedules, and cleanliness.
It might be challenging to know how to handle a difficult roommate without making matters worse, and that is if you already share a home with one. Another category of lousy roommates includes those who are simply rude, uncaring, or cruel.
Roommate horror stories are easy to find if you ask around, and we have one for you today. Meet u/Grammarnatzie, the original poster of today's story, who took to the r/ChoosingBeggars subreddit community to tell his story.
Apparently, the OP once had a roommate who only paid like $100 a month because it was "all he could afford." The OP also mentioned that he was supposed to buy his own groceries but never did.
On top of that, he would always expect the OP to give him rides whenever he needed them, even if it would inconvenience him. This roommate made a certain comment one time, and that was the OP's breaking point.
OP writes
u/Grammarnatzie"Hey next time you buy pop don't get that low calorie sh*t, get some normal pop"

u/GrammarnatzieHe is definitely one rude dude
u/GrammarnatzieRedditor soonerpgh has a similar story to the OP's and here it is:
Had a roommate that did something similar. He also stole my sketch book and got a job as a tattoo artist for a short time. I cringe to think about what he may have put on someone’s skin. I also cringe to think about the studio that would hire someone without checking not only their artistic abilities but their background as well.
This Redditor thought the OP was their roommate
u/GrammarnatzieThe OP talked to the roommate about it but it didn't change
u/GrammarnatzieDo not complain when the other person doesn't
u/GrammarnatzieJust like this
u/GrammarnatzieThis Redditor reveals he's passing through what the OP passed through
u/GrammarnatzieIt's as if a lot of Redditors have had an encounter or two with bad roommates, as they had different stories to share. Hopefully, the OP has gotten a better roommate who won't remind him of this bad one.
