The British and Americans are constantly beefing on the internet; the second someone mentions an unusual aspect in the other country's slang or customs, hell breaks loose, and everyone starts roasting each other. It is one of the most fun things to witness online; it is a free, original, and funny form of entertainment.
Most of the world got used to American English because of Hollywood movies, video games, and many other forms of entertainment that originate from America. In a way, American English became the norm, which in turn, made British slang stand out a little bit (which is pretty unfair if you ask me).
