An Artist Shares 30 Comics That Are Likely To Resonate With Anyone Struggling With Depression

Meet Adam, an artist and a Polish social media manager living in Berlin. Adam started drawing comics about depression chicken and its friends years ago.

When it started, it was a kind of art therapy for the artist. According to him, he says:

"It started with my best friend (I portray him as Birdfish) who planted this idea in me. It was a pretty dark time for me. I didn't feel understood, I had no control over my feelings and my depression made me feel undriven. But through my comics, I found a new passion and it helped me to express my feelings in the funny comics. It was not just a new hobby."

The artist's community on Instagram grew and he received great feedback from his followers. Then, he understood that there are many other Depression Chickens out there who feel the same way he does.

This helped the artist to slowly understand his feelings and learn to deal with them. A year later, Adam is a different person and still carries that dark part of him, but he has better control now.

The artist also revealed that his comics helped him to deal with his depression and he hopes you will like them too!

Although the artist is aware that depression is a difficult topic to broach, humor and auto-irony have always struck a chord with him. Despite the fact that he occasionally felt his humor was too dark, his community has almost always been extremely supportive of his writing.

The artist believes that the popularity of his comics is due to the fact that he conveys his true emotions in his posts.

Adam is aware that many of his supporters experience sadness on a regular basis. He frequently receives comments and messages from people who tell him that, while they too are dealing with similar issues, his comics make them smile and they can relate to it.

That is what matters most to the artist!

The artist says that the least and greatest gift he can offer his followers is the feeling of being understood. He also tries to give them advice, but ultimately he realizes that everyone must find a solution for themselves because he is not a trained therapist.

Adam would be extremely happy if he could even slightly assist someone in finding this path.
