Illustrator Reimagines 8 Disney Princesses As Witches, And They Are Truly Enchanting

by May

It's always the witches who put curses on or enchants the princesses in different classic Disney movies. We've seen Maleficent's spindle, the poisoned apple, Anna's frozen heart, and Ursula's spell that took Ariel's voice away.

But what if this time, it's the Disney Princesses' turn to be the witches? Fortunately, we get to see this reimagination as digital illustrator Emma G made it happen.

Reimaginations are always fun to look at. Aside from seeing our favorite characters with a twist, there's also a sense of reliving the magic of our younger days.

The artist, who's also a Disney fan, turned 8 princesses into spellbinding witches. And boy do they look beautiful and stunning!

Emma G, who goes by the username ekg.arts on Instagram, has always loved creating fan art. She says it lets her be faithful to the source material.

The artist also loves the dark villain looks. So, she combined this concept with the Disney Princesses, which she grew up with.

Check ekg.arts if you want to see more Disney goodness. Aside from working in 2D characters, she also has 3D artworks.

So expect to see 3D fan arts of Anna, Elsa, Merida, and Rapunzel. But in the meantime, let's enjoy the witch versions of the Disney Princesses.

Pocahontas

What inspired Emma to draw the Princesses with a twist is her fellow artist Yudelmis San Emeterio. What she saw from the Cuban illustrator are Disney glow-ups.

Ariel from The Little Mermaid

Even as a witch, Ariel is full of wonder. Emma G enjoyed playing with its background paint.

Aurora from Sleeping Beauty

The artist initially planned Aurora's witch version in gothic school-girl style. But with the Princess' queen vibes, she ended up with this one, instead.

Megara from Hercules

Is she putting an end to the flower's life or is she reviving it? It makes you wonder.

Belle

The witch bookworm. What spells will she study?

With her love for books, the artist felt that Belle was giving her some Hermione (from the Harry Potter series) vibes. If Belle were a witch, she'd probably be fast friends with the muggle-born witch.

The digital artist really enjoyed creating this set.

She completed the 2D characters first as they are faster to do. Afterward, she drew the 3D characters.

If you look at her Instagram account, each photo has a timelapse of her process. Her works have also been featured on the YouTube channel called TheThings.

Aside from Disney Princesses, Emma G also creates fan arts of anime characters and creates her original ones too. Check out her Instagram account for more Disney goodness.
