Losing a friend is not easy. Stronger the friendship was -stronger the sense of loss is. We humans like to think that we are the only ones on this planet with emotions, even though animals tend to prove us wrong us pretty often.
Just because the animals can’t talk about their loss, doesn’t mean they can’t feel it. This dog decided to do something about it. He found a new friend and welcomed him into his house, where he will be protected because he knows he has a good and kind human by his side.
Crosby is a dog that two of his friends in a short period. He loves cats and other dogs, and he proved it once more.
"About six months ago, he lost his kitty friend, and just over a month ago he lost his best doggo friend that he's had as a companion since he was eight weeks old," Crosby's owner, said.
"Crosby has been pretty okay about being an only doggo, or so I thought."
A few weeks ago, this dog did not welcome its owner, cheerful and playful as usual. When he got home from work, his pet took him straight to the tub.
There he was greeted by a very noisy kitten that did not cease to meowing.
"I've never seen this kitten before, and although I do have a doggy door, it's way too high off the ground for this baby to have snuck in. It seems to me that Crosby must have brought her inside.
"She has an uncanny resemblance to the kitty friend he lost 6 months ago."
None of the neighbors knew if the cat belonged to anyone. Some saw it but didn't know whose it was.
"I took the kitty to the vet to see if she was microchipped, and she isn't. She was however spayed just a few days ago, and is thought to be about four months old."
After being notified by the veterinarian that the kitten could end up on the street because the shelter was crowded, Crosby’s owner decided to give him a home. He doesn't like the thought of kitty wandering around and trying to survive on the streets. And it also seemed that Crosby likes the kitty.
Crosby was thrilled and stayed by her side the whole night.
Crosby made new friends again, and he was on cloud nine.
