Grad Student Has A Maternity Photo Shoot With Her Thesis

by Rachel

It is the time of year where grad students are finally finishing their final thesis and reaching the light at the end of the tunnel. The thesis is a culmination of all of their study and shows their professional capability in their chosen field of study.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, students are celebrating this milestone in a variety of creative ways. Sarah Curtis, a PhD Candidate at Emory University, has written her thesis on epigenetics; the study of how gene regulation changes, independent of the DNA sequence. What sets her apart from fellow peers, is that she has gone viral with a maternity photo shoot with her thesis.

After 4 years of writing, Sarah has finally finished her thesis.

Coming in at 183 pages, she is very proud of her 'baby'.

After seeing all of the newborn pictures online, Curtis was inspired to have a maternity shoot with her completed thesis.

Speaking to Yahoo, Sarah says;

“I have a lot of nieces and nephews, and my mom told me, ‘Either get a PhD. or give me a grandchild. I got my doctorate.”

Many students are relating, as it is like a very long labor.

Curtis' peers congratulated her on twitter.

Some were telling her about their experiences.

While others showed their own "babies".

We wish Sarah, and her peers best of luck.
