As temperatures soar, sunscreen, drinking water, and avoiding direct sunlight are musts. Sunlight is good for our bodies and minds, but too much UV light can be uncomfortable, unpleasant, and sometimes even fatal.
As with other things, the amount of sunlight you expose yourself to is more important than you might think. Getting some sun boosts serotonin levels, which in turn improves mood, cognition, and physical stamina.
It's also helpful for people struggling with seasonal depressive disorder (SAD) and major depressive disorder. Some medical professionals even recommend exposure to light, whether through a window or an artificial source.
To put it another way, to be a fully functional human being, you need to expose your skin to the sun every single day. It is not recommended that you spend the entire day sitting indoors, staring at your computer screen and snarling at whoever raises the blinds.
On the other hand, too much time in the sun might damage your skin. Particularly if you are not being careful with your skin and not using any sunscreen to block the harmful UV rays, this might cost you later with painful sunburns.

Wet skin is more susceptible to sunburn. If you intend to swim frequently, you should get enough water-resistant sunscreen.
Sunscreen isn't the only precaution you can take. Long-sleeved shirts and caps can also block UV radiation.
Sunburn symptoms, such as stinging, and burning skin, typically develop after a few hours of exposure to sunlight. Take note of these things before having fun under the sun!
