21 MCU Plot Lines That Got Scrapped, But Would've Been Crazy If They Were Actually Pushed Through
Nowadays, if you haven't been able to watch any of the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and revealed it, people would look at you with a question mark on their faces like you're some unidentified creature who's just aimlessly walking this planet. Well, who can blame them—almost everyone now has watched at least one MCU movie whether it's against their will or not!
Because let's face it, it's pretty impossible to not let yourself get involved in this cinematic universe ever since Iron Man (2008) came out, and most especially when Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) was released—because, hey, it's pretty hard to turn down watching Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans! The Marvel comics have already been well-loved by the world ever since they came out in the late 1930s, so it's really no surprise that many anticipated the release of these movies right from the very first one when the producers are just testing the waters on what kind of success and recognition they would garner.
There are some people who have already memorized the movies from start to end, including the shows, and there are also ones who have been long-time fans of these heroes even before they got their movie adaptations. But what many people don't know is that these movies went through a series of changes before they got the final result—and that includes having spare storylines that did not make the final cut.

1. When they first wrote the script for Endgame, there actually was a part wherein Wanda (who, for some reason, survived the snap) goes on a road trip with Rocket to seek an Infinity Stone.
Marvel2. The writers tried to play on this idea where Hulk uses the Infinity Stones in Endgame, and then he appears in the Soulworld. Bruce and Hulk would've talked face to face.
Marvel3. In the finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., there was supposed to be an explanation for the characters that weren't snapped—somewhere along the fact that they were actually on a different timeline.
Marvel / ABC4. There was an idea that Peter would reveal his own identity in the final battle of Spider-Man: Far From Home to defeat Mysterio, as opposed to him getting surprised when the villain did it in the post-credits.
Marvel / Sony5. There was a storyline in Avengers: Infinity War wherein Sam Wilson went to space instead of Spider-Man.
Marvel6. Aaron Taylor-Johnson filmed an alternate scene where Pietro survived the battle in Sokovia, and he became an Avenger along with Wanda. You can go cry now.
Marvel7. There was supposed to be a flashback scene of Stephen's sister, Donna, dying in Doctor Strange.
Marvel8. The "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" scene at the ending of Guardians of the Galaxy almost had a Grandpa Quill scene where he's looking up at the stars.

9. You may have already seen this, but Endgame did actually almost include a scene where an older version of Morgan (played by Katherine Langford) talks to Tony Stark while he's visiting Soulworld.

10. In Endgame, Natasha almost had a part where she was in charge of an organization that takes care of children that were orphaned after their parents were snapped by Thanos.

11. Hela was supposed to kill Odin in Thor: Ragnarok, instead of him just dying peacefully.

12. In Endgame, there was supposed to be a scene where Thanos went back in time and killed the Avengers in 2014. Years later, in 2023, a scene would've shown him with Captain America's severed head.

13. Endgame almost had a post-credits scene of Wanda finding Vision's body after returning from being snapped by Thanos. We did see this one in WandaVision, though.

14. There was an idea in Infinity War that Doctor Strange would send Thanos in a mindscape (similar to what the Ancient One did to Doctor Strange). He would've faced the Living Tribunal.

15. There was supposed to be a scene in Black Panther where W'Kabi and Okoye talk about their future, having children and what to make of Wakanda.

16. There was supposed to be a "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" inspired episode in WandaVision, where Wanda's work-life balance is featured.

17. Captain Marvel was almost introduced in the final scene of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

18. There was supposed to be a scene in Thor: Ragnarok where a woman is seen leaving Valkyrie's bedroom, confirming her bisexuality.

19. Yelena almost heard a whistle back when she was visiting Natasha's grave in Black Widow's post-credits scene.

20. There was supposed to be a storyline in the finale of WandaVision wherein Monica, Darcy, Billy, and Tommy form a team to fight Señor Scratchy in Agatha's basement, who turned into a demon.

21. The Avengers almost had a scene where Steve and Peggy meet at present time, and talked about missing their dance at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger.
