French Artist Creates Comics About Their Life As A Parent That Are Hilarious As They Are Relatable

No matter how rewarding and wonderful it may be, parenting is NOT for the weak. It is grueling, hard work day in and day out, where you’re running on little to no sleep and as much caffeine as you can stand.

And children don’t give AF at all. They’re adorable little egocentric monsters that don’t know how to empathize with anyone for YEARS, along with not knowing much of anything else, really.

Yet, we continue to get up every morning, or overnight countless times, and do it again. Because as difficult as it can be to be a parent, it is so worthwhile for all the good moments.

It’s this weird little dichotomy that is hard to understand unless you’re in it. That’s why we absolutely adore this webcomic by French artist Yllya.

Yllya, who is a published comic book writer by trade, details moments about her family, (her husband, young daughter, and cat) that perfectly and hilariously capture what life with a young child is like. There’s the chaos, the worries, the love, and the excruciating amounts of patience required, all beautifully depicted in 4 panels.

She started the comic Happy Family on a whim and it quickly blew up. This is no surprise, considering her adorable art style and fun stories.
