Social Media 'Influencer' Asks Hotel For Freebies In Exchange For 'Exposure' & Hotel Publicly Calls Them Out

If you're an influencer, I highly, highly, adamantly, vehemently recommend that you do NOT contact The Charville Lodge / White Moose Cafe in Dublin and ask for a freebie, because they will not play ball.

If you've got Instagram, you'll have seen the travel bloggers. They're the ones who seem to be at a different holiday destination every single week, staying at the most amazing hotels and living the dream.

If you didn't know, a lot of the time, those influencers DO NOT pay for those vacations. It's all comp, freebies and sponsorships and the rest of us are watching in awe, wishing we weren't at our 9-5.

Big influencers tend to be the ones who get approached by businesses because they genuinely do bring business in for these companies and businesses view it as a form of advertising. However, mid-level influencers usually have to do the leg-work themselves. This means 'reaching out' to business and basically begging for freebies.

Sometimes it works... other times, not so much. Below is an example of a mid-level influencer 'reaching out' and the business absolutely SHUTTING DOWN the behaviour.

Check it out below.
