This Ukrainian Celebrity Risks His Life To Save Cats And Dogs In The War Zone Every Day
Alexei Surovtsev is known in Ukraine for more than his work as an actor and performer, but his most striking role has unfolded far from the stage. In the middle of the war, he has been risking his life to pull cats, dogs, and other animals out of danger in Irpin and nearby areas.
His rescue work has made him a local hero, with social media posts showing everything from chinchillas saved from ruined buildings to frightened kittens pulled from burning structures. Day after day, he keeps going back into dangerous zones, often returning with dozens of animals that were left behind when families fled.
That mix of fame, danger, and compassion is what makes his story stand out, and the latest updates show just how far he is willing to go.

Surovtsev explained that:
Despite the fact that many people are returning to their homes, there are still many animals on the street. We feed and water everyone. Within a week, additional rooms of the shelter in the ASTI clinic will be ready, and we will be able to place even more animals there.

Drumroll...

In another video, the sound of gunfire can be heard in the background as Surovtsev searches among the wreckage of his cherished city for its most helpless victims.
Yes, it’s dangerous! Yes, it’s hard! Yes, it’s scary! But when you see these frightened, devoted eyes, you realize that it is not in vain.

We can only hope that as the conflict winds down, more people will join Alexei in his efforts to help all those affected by this devastating war.
