Two Cats Spend Hours Watching Each Other Across An Alley, So Their Owners Decided To Arrange A Meeting
Two cats turned an ordinary alley into their own little love story, and their owners could not help but get involved. Simon spent hours staring across the way at Theo, while Theo kept appearing at the window like he knew exactly who was waiting for him.
What started as one cat’s intense window watching quickly became a neighborhood obsession. Mackenzie, Simon’s owner, noticed how fixated he was on the fluffy cat across the alley, then shared the moment online as the two pets kept finding ways to “talk” from a distance.
Before long, the internet was rooting for them, and the next step was obvious. Read on.
Simon was obsessed with a cat who lives across the street.

He would spend hours looking through the window.

Mackenzie’s tweet quickly went viral, and people were thrilled by Simon’s devotion to this other cat, a stranger who hadn’t yet shown his interest in him. Simon was committed and would stare at his buddy day after day, and finally, his owner decided to help him out.
And his owner decided to do something about it. She wrote this message:

And the response came soon after: “Hi Simon, I’m Theo. You’re my best friend.”

The owners believed that the relationship should be elevated to another level and opened their windows so the cats could communicate. Mackenzie documented this relationship on Twitter, and she was surprised by how people couldn’t get enough of their love story.
She placed another sign on her window from Simon to Theo.
“Theo, we went viral on Twitter.”
Theo replied,
“Simon, we did it!”
Eventually, Theo’s owner helped him create his own Twitter account so that the buddies could communicate virally and not just with old-fashioned pen and paper.
This is like the cat playdate gone wrong, where her attempt ended with a new nemesis.
A meeting was arranged.

Simon was nervous.
Theo and Simon hit it off immediately.

The next step was obvious, a face-to-face meeting. No more window gazing or direct messages on Twitter for these buddies.
Simon could hardly contain his excitement. Mackenzie shared on Twitter that even though there was a bit of hesitation at first, their initial playdate went great. Mackenzie said:
“Simon is following Theo around like a puppy… We think it went as well as it can with cats! Only a couple of hisses, no fights, and lots of butt-sniffs.”

What’s great is that another cat joined this duo and regularly hangs out by its window, waiting to be accepted into this gang. Simon’s owner said that it would be great if the cat were named Alvin because it would go nicely with Simon and Theodore (The Chipmunks).
We can't wait for the update!
