Dog Is Hilariously Shamed In Police Officer's Facebook Report Over A Slain Elf
Christmas decorations do not always survive the holidays, and one police officer's Facebook post turned that familiar chaos into a full-on crime report. In San Juan County, Shane Ferrari shared a dramatic account of what happened after his dog, Josie, allegedly got into a very unfortunate encounter with a family elf.
The post mixes holiday humor with a mock-serious investigation, complete with photos, captions, and plenty of public shaming for the accused pup. Josie may have a loyal fan base, but the evidence in this case is looking pretty rough.
By the end, the elf's fate and Josie's innocence are both up for debate. Read on.
Meet Shane Ferrari and his dog, Josie!
Josie is the sweet, innocent, adorable pooch who has caused all the drama in the Ferrari household this silly season. It seems as though one of the family elves was brutally murdered, and Josie is the main suspect!
Let's look at the crime scene...
Mr. Ferrari's Facebook post reads as follows:
The holiday drama escalates fast.
*Breaking News* Elf found slain in sheriff candidate’s home. Suspect in custody. On December 3, 2017, at approximately 0800 hours, residents of the Ferrari household awoke to a gruesome scene. Beloved elf Holly Christmas was found slain in the family room. Shane Ferrari, with the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, was the first law enforcement official to arrive. He described the incident as horrific. Evidence found at the scene quickly turned the investigation’s focus to Josie Ferrari, aka “The Mutt.”
Meet Holly Christmas. RIP

Josie was not exactly treated like a model citizen.
Josie was taken into custody
The report continued: The victim’s body was found near the doggie door, a known hangout of Josie’s. Upon questioning, Josie fled law enforcement, and a foot chase ensued. Josie was apprehended after a minor struggle and is being charged with murder, tampering with evidence, and fleeing. Ferrari stated, “I am happy with the quick apprehension of the suspect. My concern now is for the family due to New Mexico's 'catch and release' rules.” Photos of the crime are attached (warning! Viewer discretion is advised).

How could this little face be guilty?
And this isn't where the case ended!
The public is already picking sides.
Also wild, just like Officer Mercado, chasing a lonely pup on a deserted road.
Even though the public vouches for Josie's innocence, the elves have other ideas

And the paperwork did not help Josie's case.
And unfortunately, the precious pup was booked...
It seems as though the dog is guilty! Though the case continues, and Josie waits patiently for the verdict, she is, in fact, being kept under surveillance for the time being. But could Josie really be the killer? That prison suit shade of blue is really helping convince the public just how cuddly our possible killer is.
Remembering Holly

Abbey walks investigators through the scene of the crime.
She described the homicide to detectives and is working very hard to close this case and ensure the real killer is put behind bars! But could it be an inside job???
MAYBE
Josie's story has been put on pause while Ferrari deals with the many other important cases ongoing in San Juan County, so hopefully, the elves take this time to fess up, or Abbey solves the case alone! For now, it is suspected that Josie is serving time by sleeping away the days or running laps in the yard. Good luck, Josie! We know you're innocent!
That poor elf never stood a chance.
