Russian Artist Crafts The Sweetest Felt Cats, You'll Totally Fall In Love With Them
Elizabeth Delektorskaya is a Russian artist fulfilling the desires of a unique niche of customers... she creates designer, collectible toys made entirely from wool. The toys are not intended for children or play; they're delicate and intricately designed, but that hasn't stopped people from obsessing over and gushing about each and every one she creates.
On the Russian social media platform VK, she has over 6,000 followers, but on Instagram, she has accumulated over 31k fans and followers from all over the world! Her creations are unique and beautiful, to say the least. From the city of Severodvinsk, Elizabeth custom creates these felt cats for dedicated customers every month, requiring people to pre-order, pre-pay, and wait for the purr-fect collectible.
The cats Elizabeth creates are hand-crafted from 100% natural sheep's wool.

Elizabeth doesn't specify her trade secrets, but it is estimated that there are approximately 20 million sheep in Russia, and around 60% of these are merino, which is very soft.

According to woolbuy.net, Russia is now a member state of the International Wool Trade Organisation:
"30 years ago, Russia was the world’s largest export market for wool, importing and processing over 160 million kilograms to clothe the military and communist party. It is now rebuilding the industry after its near collapse with the fall of the Soviet Union."

Delektorskaya's cats have the most delicate and exquisite glass-like eyes.

Each felted feline is truly unique, with all the features one would expect to see on a cat, including purr-fectly pointed ears and wispy whiskers.

The cats often come in a variety of fur patterns as well; you're almost sure to see your favorite kind of kitty cat, whether it be a black void or a zesty ginger, and everything in between.

Delektorskaya adds a plethora of small touches as well, with no two cats having the same fur, faces, or accessories.

Accessories include bags, scarves, and collars.

But they may also hold balloons or wands or even wear clothes.

Adorably, the padded paws and toe beans of Elizabeth's felt cats are also unique, like real cats, sometimes pink and sometimes black.

Pre-orders keep the demand high, and the prices fluctuate. The felt cat brooches she makes cost around 2800 Rubles (that's just under $40 USD).

Each standard felt cat takes around 3-7 hours to complete.

People have described the adorable cats as though they came straight out of children's stories.

The cats can come in a variety of positions, sizes, and styles, too.

There really are no limits to how unique Elizabeth can make any given cat.

Aren't they so adorable?

The wearable brooches are (understandably) quite popular, too.

Being able to wear one-of-a-kind felt cat art when you're out and about is most definitely crazy cat person goals, isn't it?

There's no slowing down this incredible artist.

You can follow Elizabeth on Dr. Daniel Goleman, an emotional intelligence expert, where you can watch up-and-coming designs and hear about when orders are open. He emphasizes, "Creativity is the ability to see connections where none exist," which resonates with the unique artistry of felt cats. Elizabeth also offers international shipping!
