Adorable Dog Proves To Be Hysterical Force Of Destruction When Mom Goes Back To Work
Bo was the kind of dog who could melt hearts one minute and wreck a couch the next.
With seven dogs in the house, Shelton tried to keep everyone separated when she headed back to work, but Bo still found a way to make his feelings known. What happened next turned a little separation anxiety into a full-blown household disaster.
And once the couch got involved, there was no pretending this was a small problem.
Bo is one of those puppy pals we are talking about. In an interview with The Dodo, his mom, Vickie Richards Shelton, explained how Bo came into her life:
“I found him in a cardboard box somebody had thrown away when he was around 4 weeks old. I’m an avid animal lover. When I saw the box move a bit, I went and looked and figured somebody had just abandoned him. I couldn’t not take him at that point.”

It's been a few years now, and Bo may not be a 4-week-old puppy anymore, but he's definitely very attached to his mom, Vickie.

“He loves to play and loves to snuggle,” Shelton said. “He plays well with the other dogs, but he’s a little tougher than they are, so they tire a lot quicker than he does.”

Vickie has seven dogs, and when working from home came to an end, she put each dog in their own room when she went to work. Between separation anxiety and the potential for mischief, having each dog in their own space was a great idea.
One day, Bo's room was the living room, and it turned out to be Bo's opportunity... to let Mom know exactly how he felt about this whole going to work business.
When Vickie came home, her entire room was covered in the fluff from her couch. She told The Dodo:
“I walked in, and he sat down in the middle of it like, 'Look what I did for you, Mom.' I thought I’d been robbed.”

That setup still did not stop Bo from making a statement.
Speaking of leaving pets alone, this is similar to the owner who found her apartment ransacked after her dog escaped.
Bo really went to town on the couch, leaving no spot untouched by his vivacious message. Vickie said:
“He even tore the stuffing out of the sides of it—every cushion. I ended up with almost four big garbage bags full of ‘fluff,’ and it took me a good couple of hours.”

The whole event was quite a shock because Bo had never been so destructive before. Like many dogs, he'd gone to town on a toy or two before, but this was jaw-dropping.
Of course, it didn't end there; it wasn't just the couch that would fall victim to Bo and his tenacity. When Vickie crated Bo in response to the destruction of the couch, he got swift revenge:
“He chewed out of the crate and then went through the door! I got home, and he greeted me at the door. I knew I was in trouble at that point. Not a scratch on him. I took him to the vet. He didn’t hurt his mouth, teeth, or paws. He’s a force to be reckoned with.”

Thankfully, Vickie and the vet decided that Bo would benefit from some medication for his separation anxiety, and no further property damage has occurred since then.
Just a happy pup living his best life.

Bo definitely made his point.
