How One Grumpy Kitty's Glare From A Nativity Scene Accidentally Spread A Whole Ton Of Holiday Cheer
A sleepy morning walk in New York turned into an unexpectedly funny holiday moment when a photographer spotted a cat taking over a nativity scene. The little feline had settled into the manger like it was made for him, and his grumpy expression made the whole setup even better.
Brooke Goldman was already eager to get home and back to bed when she noticed the scene with her boyfriend on the way to the train. Instead of a dull start to the day, she got a cat photo that instantly lifted her mood and turned into a cheerful little holiday memory.
That sour-faced kitty ended up stealing the whole scene, and the photo says everything.

It was early on a Sunday morning when photographer Brooke Goldman made the tough decision to forgo some extra time snuggled up in her cozy bed to walk along the New York sidewalk with her boyfriend. He was on his way to catch the train on that crisp, cold morning, and Brooke was less than pleased to be tagging along.
She told the Dodo:
I was pretty out of it. I was trying to get home as fast as possible to go back to sleep and wasn’t ready for the day at all.
That cold morning was about to get a lot more interesting.

But on this bleak, cold morning, when Brooke was longing for the comfort and warmth of her bed, she happened to gaze her eyes at just the right time on this scene:

Before her, just a few strides away, was the typical sight for this time of year: a nativity scene. But more peculiar was the plump little lump of a cat plopped in the manger as if he owned the place. Placed purr-fectly on his face was an expression that seemed to simultaneously enjoy the adoration of the characters around him and loathe the moment entirely with that furrowed little face.
However grumpy he may have seemed, Goldman had her own reaction to the entire scenario:
I was laughing my ass off.
Brooke’s grumpy glare feels similar to the catographer sharing mean-looking cat portraits that are adorably terrifying.
It was the kind of sight that can ruin a serious mood in seconds.

Truly, in that moment, Goldman's frown was turned upside down. Her own grumpy disposition was abruptly halted. She said:
I guess you can definitely say he brought me joy while I was walking home. It was mood-lifting, most definitely. Laughing that hard that early in the morning makes the rest of the day much more positive.
That photo did the rest of the work.

And thankfully for the rest of us, Brooke took the cheer with her. She snapped the photo, and as if taking a lesson from the grump himself, spread her own holiday cheer by sharing the photograph with us all.
A good animal pic can cure anything.
Holiday cheer, apparently, comes with whiskers and a scowl.
