Bouche, A Grumpy Dog Who Became An Internet Celebrity Thanks To His Stink Eye
Bouche Lee may look permanently unimpressed, but that grumpy face is exactly what made him an internet favorite. The 2-year-old Brussels Griffon has a serious stink eye, a tiny beard, and a look that keeps people stopping in their tracks.
His owner, Amanda Jensen of California, says the little dog is actually playful, affectionate, and full of personality. She shares photos of Bouche’s daily adventures on Instagram, where his expressive face has helped him build a following of more than 7,000 people.
From street reactions to his Star Wars comparisons, Bouche’s photos show why this so-called grump is getting all the attention.
Bouche’s “grumpy” appearance is what Amanda loves most about him. People often approach them on the streets and comment on his unique, adorable look. Some people compare him to Grumpy Cat, while others make comparisons with characters from “Star Wars.”
“I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard, ‘That dog looks like Chewbacca’ or ‘He looks like an Ewok,’” Amanda explained.
People often presume that Bouche’s character matches his expressions, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
“Bouche has a wonderful temperament,” Amanda says. “He is very sweet and affectionate.” Even better, he’s also a bit of a “mummy’s boy.”
Bouche’s stink-eye fame is different, but it’s similar to the dog who lost part of his face and got surgery help.
“I’ve often encountered people who assume he’s much older than he is because of his grumpy pout and stately beard,” Amanda says. “I frequently have bearded men tell me that his beard is better than theirs.”
