Woman Thought She Was Loving on a Cute Stray Cat Until She Put Her Glasses On and Realized It Wasn't a Cat at All
Claudia Hankin thought she was settling in for a quiet evening with a book, but a fuzzy visitor on her porch quickly turned the moment into something much stranger. From a distance, the animal looked like a harmless stray cat, the kind that often wanders through the neighborhood looking for attention.
Claudia called it over and reached out to give it some affection, not realizing her missing glasses were making the scene a little too blurry. Once she put them on and got a closer look, the truth hit fast, and the surprise was even better than she expected.
What she thought was a cat turned out to be a possum with a very different plan for the night.
Claudia quickly grabbed her phone to take some pictures of her late-night guest. But as soon as the flash went off, the possum took off into the night.
That tiny porch visit turned into a story Claudia was happy to remember.
Heartbroken mother dog, meet the baby possum she adopts as her own after losing her puppies: this emotional story.
Claudia quickly grabbed her phone to take some pictures of her late-night guest. But as soon as the flash went off, the possum took off into the night.
So, how did Claudia feel about her surprise visitor? "I wasn't actually scared at all, as possums are harmless and very sweet, helpful neighbors," she said.
"But I would have been mightily startled if I'd realized it was a wild animal while I was petting it." Well, thankfully, that didn't happen!
