Ukrainian Police Officers Save A Puppy From A Destroyed Building And Return It To Its Elderly Owner
In war zones, even the smallest rescues can feel enormous. On April 12, Ukrainian police officers responding to shelling in Mykhailivka, in the Donetsk region, heard a puppy crying from beneath the rubble of a collapsed house.
The rescuers quickly dug through the wreckage and found a tiny black puppy, dusty, shivering, and still alive. After being pulled free, the dog was cleaned up and later returned to its 77-year-old owner, who had escaped the blast but had no idea where the puppy had gone.
It is a rare bright moment in a place still dealing with loss, damage, and uncertainty. Read on.
A puppy is rescued by Ukrainian police from a destroyed house near Donetsk that was bombed by Russian forces.

Its 77-year-old owner managed to escape the bombardment but had no idea where the puppy had gone. The first responders rushed to the scene and dug through the rubble to find the missing animal.

Medics treated both the puppy and the owner, and both are recovering.
“Thanks to the boys for doing everything quickly and promptly here,” the dog owner said while holding the pup, who was trembling from the shock.

Buried alive but saved by real Ukrainian heroes! Real heroes are even kind to puppies. We must give praise to the Ukrainian people and their first responders.
Amid fear, destruction, and death, they still care for everyone - even pets. We hope this madness will end soon.
The war in Ukraine has caused death and destruction that Europe hasn't witnessed in over 70 years. Officials also noted that the numbers are probably much higher. There is no available data on pets that have lost their lives.
It is incredible how we haven't learned anything from the wars our grandfathers fought.
Those of us who had the chance to speak to elderly people who lived through wars were told one thing over and over again - war is hell. Innocent lives are always the first to be lost in war. And not only human lives.
