Giant Walrus “Steals” A Boat And Takes It For A Joyride
Wally the walrus has turned into an unlikely celebrity after drifting far from the Arctic and making a string of surprise appearances along European waters. No one knows exactly how he ended up so far south, but one theory is that he dozed off on an iceberg that later drifted with the currents.
His latest stop was near Clonakilty, Ireland, where employees at a local distillery spotted the massive animal resting on one of their anchored boats. The sight was strange enough on its own, but Wally seemed perfectly content to stay put.
Now the big walrus has everyone talking again, and this time the boat owners got a front-row seat to his latest stunt.

The boat's owners were shocked, to say the least.
"It was definitely unexpected," Adam Collins, spokesman for Clonakilty Distillery, said. "Wally's been spotted in Irish waters before, but we never thought in a million years we'd see him here, especially on one of our team's boats."

Wally was apparently in need of a rest, and he had found a good place to get it.
"He seemed pretty relaxed, just chilling in the boat," Collins added.
And if you think a walrus joyride is wild, wait until fishermen found a mysterious figure stranded on an iceberg miles from shore.

The boat tilted slightly due to Wally's weight, but that didn't seem to bother him much. That vessel was a great place to rest, and the owners didn't mind one bit.
"Thankfully, there was no damage caused to the boat," Collins explained. "We were quite happy just to leave him be and chill out!"
Wally even took a nap.

Collins added that Wally was still onboard when night fell, and the boat owners headed back to shore. Even though they didn't get to use the boat that day, there are absolutely no hard feelings.
"It was an amazing experience just to see him," Collins said.
