Abandoned Dog, Mowgli, Had Such A Traumatic Past That He Hid And Hoarded Treats Instead Of Enjoying Them
A roadside rescue turned into a story that dog lovers will not forget anytime soon. A woman spotted a weak, abandoned dog walking along a busy road, and when she got closer, she realized just how bad things were.
The dog, later named Mowgli, was old, covered in fleas and ticks, and clearly had been struggling for a while. Even after being saved, he stayed scared and guarded, which made every small step forward feel like a big one.
Then one strange habit revealed just how much he had been through, and it said everything about his past. Read on.
Someone had dumped a weak and old dog in the middle of nowhere and he had fleas and ticks on his back
Mowgli was pleased to have his own bed and instantly flaked out in deep sleep. Over the next few days, his tiredness and social withdrawal faded, and he began interacting with the shelter workers.
That first bit of comfort made a bigger difference than anyone expected.
The dog was terrified and exhausted, but he eventually agreed to follow the kind woman
His habit of not munching on his treats right away was observed by the workers. Rather, he would keep them all and hide them in his bed.
He was too accustomed to life's harsh insecurities and instincts, and saving for a rainy day was his way of feeling secure in times of crisis.
Even treats had to be treated like a backup plan.
This reminds me of the abandoned puppy who burst into tears when a stranger finally gave it bread.
He was convinced that he was in the right place with the right people!
Fortunately, Mowgli will never have to fret about his own survival again! He was adopted by a family in Munich and has grown into the most adorable dog ever.
He has his own large garden and enjoys strolling through the nearby forest with his new parents.
Now he gets to enjoy the kind of life he should have always had.

Stories like this about rescued dogs don’t fail to touch your heartstrings, even if you aren't a dog lover. It’s certainly not a crime to not own a dog (or any other pet), but if you decide to own them, dumping or neglecting them to suffer in harsh conditions like the way Mowgli did is utterly inhumane.
