He was then adopted by Ian Russell, a 52-year-old hydraulic engineer, who had recently lost his beloved Dalmatian named Mica. Ian felt an instant connection with Kai and saw it as fate that they were brought together.
Reflecting on his decision to adopt Kai, Ian expressed his joy and gratitude for the opportunity to provide a loving home for the abandoned dog. Despite not being a believer in fate, Ian believes that it was meant to be, and he feels privileged to have been chosen to be Kai's new owner.
Kai was found with just a few things; in his suitcase, he had a pillow, a toy, a food bowl, and some food.
According to the Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006, leaving an animal behind is against the law. If caught, the person responsible could be banned from owning pets, either temporarily or for life.
