Shelter Staff Creates Amazing Adoption Campaign And Finds Loving Home For Cat That Spent 400 Days In The Shelter
Every animal needs and deserves a loving home. They need love and care just like we do.
Animals taken to shelters have often been through a lot. Some have been abandoned, others have been found sick or injured and required assistance, and still others were too young to be out on the streets alone.
This is why, rather than shopping, we always encourage individuals to adopt. There are many animals at shelters looking for a home.
If you welcome these adorable babies into your house, they will provide you with unconditional love, as they understand the value of having a family. They couldn't have asked for anything better.
There are many sad stories in shelters, mainly because some animals spend the majority of their lives there if they are not adopted. However, some stories do have a happy ending.
For example, Champas, a white cat, had a tragic start to his life, but he was finally adopted after 436 days in the shelter! He was a resident at the Animal Welfare League shelter in Australia.
He was a shy cat who rarely engaged with others and spent most of his time alone, like many animals do in shelters.
Meet Champas

Champas was a resident at the Animal Welfare League shelter in Australia. He was renowned for being shy and rarely engaged with others. He spent most of his time alone, like many animals do in shelters.

The staff members decided to make him a "feline receptionist" to encourage him to connect with others and become more social. Champas began to get along with people and became much friendlier due to the success of the plan.
This prompted the team to launch an ad campaign. They created Champas's dating profile!
Champas had already been in the shelter on Valentine's Day. They wanted to find him the ideal home so he could spend Valentine's Day with someone he cares about.
For this exceptional little guy, they devised a one-of-a-kind campaign. At the Animal Welfare League, the kitty became quite a star.
After 436 days, Champas was ultimately adopted. Nathan, his new father, said:
“To everyone who is wondering what happened to Champas, the long-term resident of Kemps Creek – he came home with me today, and after biting my hand, went straight to sleep.
The staff decided to promote him as a "feline receptionist" to encourage him to engage with other people and become more social.

Champas began to get along with people and became much friendlier. This prompted the team to launch an ad campaign.

The holidays are coming!

Little Champas loves his new life. He's enjoying this Valentine's Day with the people he loves, and that's what counts. It took a while for him to find his forever home, but it was all worth it.
