Skilled Dog Is Spotted Having A Great Time With His Owner While Surfing The Flooded Neighborhood
For most people, a flooded neighborhood means staying inside for the rest of the day. For Bo, however, navigating the waters is as simple as bringing out his surfboard.
Peter Rosen began experimenting with teaching his dog, Bo, to surf several months ago after a severe storm turned the neighborhoods of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, into a lake bed. Rosen hoped that when the neighborhood flooded again, Bo would remember his surfing skills.
Rosen pulled out the board, and Bo instantly remembered it and hopped right on. He didn’t hesitate to decide what to do at that precise moment.
A neighbor, Rachel Frank, was trying to walk her dog through the flooded sidewalk when she noticed Rosen and Bo getting ready to hit the water waves. When she returned from her walk, the two—Rosen and Bo—were already far down the flooded road, surfing and enjoying themselves.
Rachel couldn’t help but laugh at what she was observing and began recording Rosen and Bo having the time of their lives. Meanwhile, Rachel’s dog, Beto, was with her at the time and wanted to hop in and enjoy it as well, but he hadn’t had any prior surfing training.
Rosen initially attempted to teach Bo to surf in the ocean waves, but the small South Florida waves weren’t strong enough to propel the surfboard efficiently.

Rosen quickly realized that the flooded streets would be a better place for Bo to hone his surfing skills. He started teaching Bo by pulling him through the water by hand.
Bo gradually regained his balance, and they eventually added the electric bike.

Anything that brings him closer to Rosen appeals to Bo, who was adopted about three years ago after Rosen discovered him at a rescue home in the Cayman Islands. Rosen and her husband were on vacation when they came across Bo, whose previous owner could no longer care for him.

They took Bo on a hike around the island with them, and he blended in perfectly. Bo was quickly adopted, and their explorations have continued ever since.
He began teaching Bo by manually pulling him through the water
Bo’s unique method of transport does not end with surfing. He’s frequently seen riding in the sidecar of Rosen’s Vespa or curled up in a papoose while Rosen skateboards.
“He’s pretty much gung-ho for anything I want to do,” Rosen said. “He just wants to be with me,” she added.
