Company Creates Surprisingly Realistic LEGO Cat Models For Cat Fanatics To Build To Their Hearts' Content
If you've never heard of LEGO, you might be living under a rock, and you must have been there for about 80 years. LEGO is a Danish toy with an unprecedented history of bringing joy to humans of literally all ages.
Every second, seven LEGO sets are sold by retailers around the world, and the LEGO bricks sold in one year can wrap around the Earth five times! The LEGO Company, which states that LEGO is an adjective and not a noun, has also confirmed that the plural of LEGO is... LEGO.
In 1932, a carpenter named Ole Kirk Christiansen began making wooden toys and created The LEGO Group. In 1949, Christiansen patented a wooden version of the famous interlocking LEGO brick, and the version we know and love today was patented in 1961. The patent expired in 1978, allowing other toy companies and manufacturers to attempt to rival one of the most famous toys in the world.
Today, many companies produce interlocking brick-like toys similar to LEGO, and many of them are marketed as being compatible "with leading building bricks." While no company has been able to dethrone LEGO in any capacity, some companies, like JEKCA, have created genuinely cool products!
JEKCA is based in Hong Kong and claims they "may be your next challenge on building blocks."
JEKCA has created LEGO-like models for the kid in you to assemble into the coolest, life-sized toy cats!

Their cat figures come in a variety of sizes and colors, but all of them are surprisingly realistic when you consider their features in proportion to a real, living cat.

On Facebook, JEKCA says:
"JEKCA has a patented technology that helps create these complex structures. These cats are like real sculptures and will not collapse or break apart. No glue is needed, and the procedures are reversible and straightforward. A detailed step-by-step manual is included in the package."
JEKCA has been in business for a decade, so even if they aren't directly partnered with LEGO, they seem to be doing just fine attracting a variety of clients all over the world who love animal-themed models!

Another cool thing JEKCA offers is a variety of other popular animal shapes, including tons of different dog breeds!

There's also a "DIY Husky Pack," in which JEKCA says:
"You are free to assemble your favorite Husky pose and decorate your home. JEKCA huskies require no food or exercise and certainly no barking. It is a great PAWject at home."

The word “LEGO” is a fusion of the two Danish words “leg” (play) and “godt” (good).

Check out this cool Introduction Video that JEKCA made!
On Facebook, JEKCA has nearly 100k followers and hundreds upon hundreds of genuinely positive reviews.

Some of the positive things people have been saying about their JEKCA kits include:
"I am so thrilled with how it turned out!! It is quite sturdy due to the locking screws. They protect all of my hard work and hours (16 total) invested in assembling it. I love it!!"
"Great product, good quality, and suitably challenging for older teens and kidults."
"Customer service is second to none; the kits are amazing and so much fun."
"I cannot find any words other than 'I love it!' It is super cute, and the staff is so helpful and responsive. The experience is far more than online shopping; it feels like making a new friend and creating something fun together."

Whether the kit is for a cute dog, a cartoon character, or a cat, the features tend to be surprisingly spot-on for being made out of interlocking bricks.

JEKCA is onto something clever, cute, and cool, but there's still nothing in the world quite like LEGO. Did you know that merely six 2×4 LEGO bricks can be combined in more than 915 million ways?
LEGO is so popular and well-established that we have all sorts of fascinating and fun facts about the Danish toy, such as: 1,300 LEGO pieces are made per second, 78,000 per minute, and 4,680,000 per hour.
If you played with LEGO as a child, you probably wondered if you could build a LEGO tower to reach the moon... well, you technically could. We actually know that it would take a column composed of approximately 40 billion LEGO bricks to do so.
Cats have behaviors and mannerisms that are undeniably "cat," and JEKCA has done a phenomenal job capturing that in their cat models.

The options are seemingly limitless when it comes to crafting your very own toy cat.

These clever toys could be a unique and interesting way to pay tribute to the furry feline friends who have crossed the rainbow bridge, too.

THE Pose

Oh gosh, look at this Bengal cat model!

The official LEGO Company uses what they call the "clutch system" to create their bricks to the highest standards of accuracy.

The molds used to create LEGO pieces are accurate to within 4μm/0.004mm, which is less than the width of a single hair.

Another cool option JEKCA has is world-famous paintings:
"It is believed that Leonardo da Vinci spent four years on the Mona Lisa. Have you ever imagined that you could one day empathize with the patience, persistence, and immense satisfaction of the great painters of the past? JEKCA allows you to recreate five classic paintings with JEKCA bricks."
In addition to the Mona Lisa pictured here, you can get The Girl With the Pearl Earring, Starry Night, and The Scream.

To date, LEGO has over 60 colors in production.

JEKCA has done some really cool things, but LEGO has, too.
JaysBrickBuilding says: "One of the biggest developments with the LEGO Brand is the sheer volume of brand collaborations." This was especially true in 2020 when LEGO added brand collaborations with Adidas, Airbnb, Ikea, and Nintendo.
Other collaborations that have delighted customers of all ages for LEGO over the years include LucasFilm (Star Wars), Jurassic World, and Harry Potter.

LEGO really is a fascinating company, though. Did you know that there are 86 LEGO bricks for every person in the world? You do now.

LEGO is also considered the "world’s largest tire manufacturer" because they sell over 400 million tires each year. Nobody tell Goodyear.

Incredibly, if you had a LEGO brick from 1956, it would fit with a LEGO brick made yesterday. LEGO hasn't changed!

Yet another really cool option from JEKCA is from their Architecture series.
"JEKCA explores around the world and introduces a new series, 'Architecture and Wonders,' featuring four amazing landmarks as a debut. Like other JEKCA brick sculptures, this new series is designed to be built very sturdily by our patented brick-through interlocking system. No glue is needed. The instruction manual is step-by-step and straightforward. It’s time to rebuild the Wonders at home!"
Some of the other options in the Architecture Series include Stonehenge, the Louvre, and the Moai Statue.

Moai Statue:

LEGO has three main manufacturing factories located in Billund, Denmark; Nyíregyháza, Hungary; and Monterrey, Mexico.

The largest and main LEGO factory is in Billund, which is both a small town and home to the biggest LEGO theme park: Legoland.

And yet another seriously cool series JEKCA has is their dinosaurs!
"They are Pterodactyls, Stegosaurus, Velociraptors, and ultra-realistic T-Rexes, each available in two colors. We’ve made a serious effort in designing these realistic dinosaurs, which you won't find another comparable version of in the market. The biggest size is our Homebuilder series, which can be up to 3.5m long and 1.6m tall. It is easy to build your own Jurassic Park with JEKCA!"

Stegosaurus:

LEGO’s Danish motto is “Det bedste er ikke for godt,” which means “the best isn’t too good” or “only the best is good enough.”

LEGO has provided all sorts of creative opportunities to dedicated fans, including "LEGO Ideas," where you can submit your concept ideas for what series LEGO should consider making. If you were to acquire 10,000 supporters on social media for your idea, LEGO would review it and, in some cases, decide to make it!

Whether you're committed to the original LEGO or you're fascinated and supportive of its unofficial competitors, you certainly cannot deny the creativity and possibilities JEKCA has given us... especially if you LOVE cats!

Most LEGO bricks are made of ABS plastic, which means they will never decompose, but LEGO has also introduced a plant-based brick sourced from sugar cane. "Sustainability in manufacturing is not just a trend but a necessity for the future," states David Bach, financial author. The future of LEGO and its unofficial competitors is definitely bright! If you'd like to create something from JEKCA yourself, you can visit them on their website and get to shopping right meow.
