Fearless Bird Braved Herself and Approached a Fox
Do you know much about foxes? Foxes are omnivores, which means they feed on both plants and animals.
They love berries and fruits like apples, persimmons, and many others, but they are also direct predators of frogs, rabbits, earthworms, rodents, insects, guinea pigs, other small animals, and even birds. Yes, you read that right: birds.
However, this little bird right here seems to be an exception, as it exhibited extraordinary bravery and boldness. Naturally, birds are aware of their predators and are extra cautious, but what happened here is the exact opposite.
Instead of avoiding this snoozing fox, this bird probably did not consider the danger it was facing. It was far too focused on its mission to retrieve something from the fox to make its nest much more comfortable.
This bird was clever enough to assess whether the risk was worth taking before plucking all the fur it could get from this snoozing fox. But one might always wonder: what if the fox was merely pretending to be asleep?
What if the fox was waiting for the perfect moment to gobble up the poor little bird? Take the time to read this article, and you will discover just how wise this bird is.
The Bird Checks on the Fox First.
As much as human parents would do anything for their children, birds would sacrifice much for their offspring too.
This is exactly what this bird did, as it needed something from the fox. Can you guess what that might have been?
Well, it was acquiring a necessary material for building a comfortable nest for its offspring, and that material was none other than fox fur. However, this fox could take this bird's life, as foxes are direct predators of birds.
Nevertheless, this fearless bird had a well-laid plan. It checked on the fox first to determine if, indeed, it was in a deep slumber.
First, the bird landed on the fox. It tried to observe its reaction and seemingly studied its movements as well.

The fox was busy dozing off, but the bird wanted to double-check after landing on the fox's belly to ensure its reaction and perhaps its own safety.
Not only did it check at biting or touching points, but also from a distance.

So, was the first test not enough? The bird decided to do a little pushing, jumping, and pecking to check again whether the fox would protest or show any violent reaction.

It's Plucking Time!
As the fox showed no aggression at all, only mere annoyance, the bird became more confident that it could successfully complete its mission of plucking its fur.

Mission Accomplished!
When the titmouse established that the fox was completely harmless in that state, the little bird began plucking its fur. Surprisingly, the fox just let it do whatever it wanted.
